Its finally Friday. It seemed to take forever for it to come. I really hope _ could come. I really wanted to see her again.
"Why are you so dressed up?" Kevin demanded. I turned away from the mirror to look at the door. They have their own rooms. Why are they always in mine?
"I'm not dressed up."
"You're wearing a suit jacket," Nick said coming from behind Kevin.
"Its called a fashion statement," I said annoyed," Why do you care anyway?"
"We're just trying to figure out what happened," Kevin explained,"ONe day you're still depressed about Camilla and the next you're happy."
"Not happy," Nick corrected,"Giddy. He's giddy."
"I am not giddy," I protested. They ignored me.
"I'm telling you," Nick said as he started to walk away," He met a girl on that 'walk' of his."
"Yea...you might be right," Kevin said following him," It would explain the giddiness and the suit jacket."
"I can hear you, you know!" I called after them. Geez! Even when we have our own rooms, there are no secrets in this house.
I drove up to the park at 5:45. I took the car for two reasons. One: If I walked Nick and Kevin would know where I was going. Two: Its a hassle walking everywhere. I parked the car and entered the park. I didn't see her yet. Then again, I am here 10 minutes early. I went to the swings, hoping to clear my mind. It didn't work. I was checking the clock on my phone every 5 seconds. I sighed once I realized what I was doing.
"I must be paranoid," I laughed softly," Now I'm quoting my own songs. And talking to myself...not a good sign." I tried swinging again. But the higher I got, the more paranoid thoughts I thought.
What if she can't come? Or what if she can come, but she brings Belle. That's better than her not coming at all, I guess. She's not coming...I knew it! My star status is intimidating. I'm just a normal guy, really. I just have a big house, nice cars, and mon---
"Joe?" It was her voice. The swing jerked to a stop. I slowly look towards her, half-expecting Belle to be with her. Instead I find her in this light blue dress that made her look even more beautiful, if that was even possible.I knew there was a reason blue was my favorite color
"_ you came!" I said happily. She looked away shyly.
"Yea...my parents thought I deserved a night off." I smiled and that made her blush even more. I got off the swings and walked toward her.
"Great! I was thinking we could get dinner then go on a Twilight Boat Ride. Seriously, that's what its called." She laughed softly. She followed me to my car and we were off. I was very much aware of her sitting next to me, or maybe that was just the adrenaline coursing through my veins. I took her to a five-star restaurant and she gaped at its glory.
"Joe...this place looks...really expensive," _ said.
"Don't worry about that. I asked you out, so its on me," I smiled at her. She blushed again. She fascinated me.I was beginning to think she didn't go out much. I think her parents must think of her as their own personal live-in babysitter. Which sucked, because it meant I wouldn't get to spend as much time as I would like with her.
After dinner, I found out that Google is a liar and should not be trusted. When I looked up this place it claimed it was up and running. More like down and walking. The boats were in bad shape. And everything was run out of a shack! There was no way I was letting _ set foot in one of those death traps.
"Um..." I said nervously," Maybe we should---"
"Go back to the park," she finished. I smiled and nodded.
"that's exactly what I was thinking." I drove back to the park and we walked. As much as I wanted to, I resisted the urge to grab her hand in mine. She told me about her sister and funny things she has done. I told her about funny moments with my brothers. I tried asking about her parents, but she always found a way to steer the conversation in a different direction.
It was close to midnight so I offered to take her home. I was happy when she didn't refuse. She directed me to her house. I told her goodnight, resisting the urge to lean over and kiss her. She lingered in the car. Did she want me to kiss her?
"Thanks for...asking me out," she said. She looked up at me and smiled.
"I had a lot of fun tonight." Whoa... I blinked. Her smile had temporarily stunned me.
"Um...yea...time good I too had a," I said flustered,"I mean...Maybe we could do it again sometime."
"That'd be great."
"Well, i'll need your number then." Her smile faltered.
"Um...maybe we should just meet at the park. I'm always there," she laughed unsteadily.
"Oh...okay."
"Bye Joe!" She got out of the car and walked up to her house. I waited till she was inside then I drove home.
"There's something about her," I mumbled as I unlocked the door.
"Where have you been?"
"Its past your curfew, young man."
"What is this?!" I said flicking on the lights. Kevin and Nick were sitting on the couch facing the door.
"Do you know how worried we were?" Kevin asked.
"We thought you died; got in a car crash," Nick added. I sighed in aggravation and ran a hand through my hair.Yea, right. You guys were waiting up for me and you know it.
"No privacy, whatsoever," I mumbled. I started for the stairs and they got up and followed me.
"So who is she?" Nic asked.
"Go away!" I groaned. I slammed the door in their faces. They opened the door right back up. I collapsed on my bed and covered my face with a pillow.
"If you don't tell us," Kevin threatened,"We'll just read about it in your diary." I shot up. I glared at them suspiciously.
"I don't have a diary," I hissed. Kevin put his hand under my mattress.
"What do you call this then?" he asked. He waved a thin, green book in my face.
"Its a journal. Give me that!" I jumped off the bed and lunged for Kevin. He threw it at Nick.
"Hmmm...the last few entries are very angry worded. Shame on you Joe!" Nick said.
"Stop reading it!" I went for Nick, but he ran out and closed the door in my face. I opened it quickly. Nick was already at the bottom of the stairs. What did he do, slide down the banister?
"Ah! Here we are," he said,"I never knew a walk could be so fulfilling."
"NO!" Nick ran off but continued to read.
"I stopped at that small community park a couple blocks up. I saw this beautiful girl playing with her sister."
"STOP READING IT!!"
"I bucked up the courage to ask her out," Nick read laughing,"She told me she wasn't sure if she could. I hoped she could. Her sister's name is Anabelle. And her's is _.I'll never forget her name." I finally caught up with Nick, but it was too late.
"That,"Kevin said fake crying,"Was so moving!" I snatched my journal out of Nick's hands.
"I strongly dislike you both with a passion," i grumbled. Nick and Kevin laughed loudly.
"NO PRIVACY WHATSOEVER!! I'M PUTTING A PADLOCK ON MY DOOR!!" I yelled as I went up the stairs.
